Spin Asia 2023 @ Thailand is an international workshop on Spintronics which will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, 24-29 Sep 2023. This international workshop is a follow-up of a similar workshop held in 2019 in Ollantaytambo, Peru and in 2022, in Bariloche, Argentina. This is in-person workshop and organized by both the program committee and the local committee.
Spintronics, also known as spin electronics, is a broad research direction that involves the intrinsic spin of electrons and their associated magnetic moments. Since the 1980s, spintronics has been considered a promising technology for the development of memory devices. The most well-known spintronic application is the read head in hard disk industry based on the giant magneto-resistance effect (GMR), which won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2007. Recent exciting research progress in the field of spintronics has inspired the development of additional applications, such as magnetic random-access memory (MRAM), racetrack memory, magnetic sensors, spin logic devices, high-frequency devices, and more.
This workshop will cover a wide range of topics from the latest theories, experiments, and applications in the field of spintronics, including MRAM, spin-orbit torques, anti-ferromagnetism, spin waves, spin textures, and novel magnetic materials. Student supports are provided, such as a) student registration support, b) partial travel support, and best Poster Award.
We would be delighted if you could come to Chiang Mai to present your recent interesting work in a relaxed atmosphere. The workshop will also include tours of Chiang Mai and the surrounding areas with beautiful scenery.
